OMPS Preschool Program

At OMPS Preschool, we believe young children learn best through meaningful play, exploration, and positive relationships. Our program is designed to nurture each child's natural curiosity and enthusiasm for learning while supporting their social, emotional, thinking, and physical development. We strive to provide every child with opportunities to build the skills, confidence, and independence that serve as a strong foundation for the future.

Our classrooms are warm, welcoming, engaging, and safe environments where children are encouraged to explore, discover, and grow at their own pace. Learning extends beyond the classroom through regular outdoor play, nature exploration, and hands-on experiences across the beautiful Old Mission campus.

OMPS Preschool uses The Creative Curriculum®, a research-based, play-centered curriculum that empowers children to become confident, creative, and caring learners. Through purposeful, hands-on investigations and developmentally appropriate activities, children build essential skills in language, literacy, mathematics, science, social studies, the arts, and social-emotional development throughout their daily experiences.

By combining nurturing relationships, engaging learning opportunities, and a strong emphasis on play, OMPS Preschool provides children with a joyful and enriching early childhood experience that fosters curiosity, confidence, independence, and a love of learning.

Preschool Classroom 1

Ages 3–4 Years

Our Preschool 1 classroom provides a nurturing, play-based learning environment with a daily schedule that balances teacher-guided activities, routines, and child-directed free play. Through meaningful play experiences, children build confidence, independence, curiosity, and a sense of belonging.

The curriculum is designed to support each child's developmental needs while building social-emotional and foundational learning skills. Throughout the day, children practice sharing, taking turns, following directions, building friendships, and participating in classroom routines. Hands-on activities such as art, sensory play, music, movement, and outdoor play support children's overall development.

Preschool Classroom 2

Ages 4–5 Years

Our Preschool 2 classroom provides a structured, engaging learning environment where children continue to develop independence, confidence, and a strong foundation for future learning. Through a balance of teacher-guided instruction, child-directed play, and hands-on experiences, children are encouraged to explore, problem-solve, and build skills through meaningful learning opportunities.

The curriculum places an emphasis on early literacy, numeracy, language development, science, and problem-solving while continuing to support social and emotional growth. Children participate in daily routines and group activities that encourage cooperation, responsibility, independence, and critical thinking. Child-directed free play remains an important part of each day, allowing children to explore their interests, strengthen problem-solving skills, develop creativity, and build meaningful relationships with their peers.
