OMPS Preschool

The OMPS Preschool will open September 2020 on site at Old Mission Peninsula School. The OMPS Preschool program is designed to foster connection with children's eagerness and readiness to learn and promote the social-emotional development of each child. Preschool activities will include play, exploration and education opportunities within the extensive outdoor campus available at Old Mission.

The OMPS Preschool will be using Connect4Learning® as the curriculum. Connect4Learning® is a research-based, classroom tested interdisciplinary prekindergarten curriculum. Developed through funding from the National Science Foundation, it integrates research-validated teaching methodologies from early childhood experts in mathematics, science, literacy, and social-emotional learning. Learn more about Connect4Learning® HERE.

Preschool Hours are 8:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. and will follow the regular OMPS school schedule for the 2020-2021 school year. The first day of school and preschool is scheduled for September 8, 2020.

Rates will be available soon and will be similar to that of other preschool rates within the Grand Traverse region.

If you would like to enroll in the OMPS Preschool for September 2020, please email your name and contact information and ages of your children you wish to enroll to a.henschell@ompschool.org.

Aubrey Henschell

Education: Monterey Peninsula College, Early Childhood Education, 2015.

Grand Valley State University, Creativity & Art, current student.

Why Teach?: Growing up, school was my safe place. Connections with teachers and peers built a family for me when I had little of my own. As I’ve grown as an educator, I have found so much joy in fostering the connections I create with children and their families.

What are you excited about in the school year ahead at OMPS?: I’m looking forward to getting to know the OMPS community and starting this new adventure!

Interests/Hobbies: I am a self-taught painter, who enjoys being creative. My other interests include: nutrition and holistic wellness, nature exploration, local food, music, movement, and yoga.
