We are a tuition-free, public charter school and receive per pupil funding from the State of Michigan, just as every other public school does.
As a public school, requirements for admission are similar to any other public school. Enrollment is open to Michigan students in grades K-6. Kindergarten students must be 5 years old by September 1st.
Enrollment for the 2020-2021 School Year
Please call the school or email them to be placed on a wait list. New students must complete the Enrollment Application.
Open enrollment occurs annually. Class sizes are limited, which sometimes means students new to the school may be put into a lottery if there are more applicants than spots available in particular grades at the close of the Open Enrollment Period. When a lottery is necessary, applicants are randomly drawn and the remaining applicants will be randomly selected to be placed on a wait list for the particular grade.
Open Enrollment for 2021-2022 School Year Open Enrollment Period begins on September 9, 2020, and closed on February 26, 2021. If a lottery was needed for any given grade, the lottery would have occurred in early March 2021. Please note that applications for new students continue to be accepted after the February 26, 2021 period, and these students are either accepted into a class that has available space, or wait listed in the order of receipt if a class is full.
Applications for new students and re-enrolling students are available in the following locations:

The governing authority of each community school and any operator of such school shall distribute to parents of the school upon their enrollment in the school the following statement in writing:
Old Mission Peninsula School is a community school opened in the fall of 2018 under the revised school code of Michigan. The school is a public school and students enrolled in and attending the school are required to take proficiency tests and other examinations prescribed by law. In addition, there may be other requirements for students at the school that are prescribed by law. Students who have been excused from the compulsory attendance law for the purpose of home education as defined by the Administrative Code shall no longer be excused for that purpose upon their enrollment in a community school.
